Description

The Ann Arbor Concert Band resumes its 43rd concert season in spectacular fashion as we continue the process of selecting our new conductor. Conductor finalist Roy Johnson steps to the podium presenting “Celebrating the Classics” featuring “Pineapple Poll”, music of Arthur Sullivan, Leonard Bernstein’s inspiring “Suite from Mass”, the playful “Pennywhistle Jig” by Henry Mancini, Percy Grainger’s spirited “Mock Morris”, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Pie Jesu” (arranged by Roy Johnson), “Nocturne from A Moorside Suite” by Gustav Holst, “Pepita Grues” by Pascual Perez Chovi, and the dynamic “Mannin Veen” by Haydn Wood with organist William L. Coale, Ph.D.
