Based on the best-selling pair of memoirs from father and son David and Nic Sheff, Beautiful Boy chronicles the heartbreaking and inspiring experience of survival, relapse, and recovery in a family coping with addiction over many years. Starring Steve Carell, Timothée Chalamet, Maura Tierney and Amy Ryan.

The film will be followed by a Q&A with Joanna Quigley, M.D. and Sarah Rollins, LMSW, from the UM Department of Psychiatry and Addiction Treatment Services.

Joanna Quigley, M.D. is Clinical Assistant Professor as well as Associate Medical Director for Child and Adolescent Services within the U-M Department of Psychiatry and U-M Addiction Treatment Services. Dr. Quigley is an expert in child and adolescent psychiatry with a special focus on adolescent substance use and psychosomatic medicine.

Sarah Rollins, LMSW, is a Clinical Social Worker at the U-M Department of Psychiatry and serves as an adolescent and adult therapist with U-M Addiction Treatment Services. Sarah’s practice focuses on substance abuse and it’s intersection of trauma and suicide. She works with adolescents, adults, parents and families.
