YFC 2021: Basics of Documentary Technique 2

For the kid who dreams of making movies! This one-week Basics of Documentary Technique session will train campers in the operation of cameras and related gear such as tripods; the basics of three-point lighting; framing; audio and micing; video editing basics; and putting these theories into practice in found environments. Recommended for campers with a strong interest in reality-based filmmaking, ages 13-18.

About the Scholarship Program

The Michigan Theater Foundation will be offering up to three full-tuition scholarships for each session of our 2021 Young Filmmakers’ Camp as we believe that no student should be discouraged from applying due to lack of funds.

How To Apply:

  • Select the "Scholarship Applicant" option from the available ticket types.
  • Complete the available registration and answer the two additional scholarship questions.
  • For the scholarship essay, the student applicant should answer the following questions in 300-500 words total:
    • Why are you interested in filmmaking?
    • What do you hope to learn from camp?

An Essay must be submitted with the registration form to be considered for the scholarship program.
